What We Bring to the Table
Services
Auction Consignment
Firearms: The Core
Handguns, rifles, shotguns, and long guns of every configuration: new production, pre-owned, antique, and collectible. Off-roster California handguns, NFA-eligible items, and single-action revolvers are particular strengths. If it shoots, we can sell it.
Antique & Militaria
Pre-1899 antique firearms, Civil War and WWI/WWII military surplus, edged weapons of every era: swords, sabers, bayonets, daggers, spears, and knives. Historical militaria, uniforms, medals, and field gear. This is a specialty maintained since 1998 with deep collector market expertise.

Firearms Appraisals
Western & Cowboy Americana
Cowboy action competition guns, working and show saddles, custom leather holsters and tack, spurs, period riding gear, and Western-themed collectibles. Jeff Taverner is a two-time SASS World Champion; Western Americana is a house specialty, not a sideline.
Fine Art & Decoratives
Western fine art, wildlife art, original paintings, limited-edition prints, bronze sculpture, dioramas, and decorative collectibles. We have moved everything from signed oils to elaborate hand-built dioramas representing firearms history. If it appreciates, it can auction.
Estates & Full Collections
One firearm or 5,000; the process is the same. We photograph, catalog, research, market, and sell every piece. Estate deadlines are met. Nothing comes back. For large collections, we coordinate full transport and can travel to you anywhere in the country.

Three Ways to Sell
Most sellers have already thought about their options before they call. Here’s an honest look at all three:
Sell to a Dealer
They’re going to lowball you. That’s not an insult; that’s just the nature of the beast. Same as taking a car to a car dealer. They buy things at what is known as cost. You can walk out with cash that day, but you’re going to be leaving money on the table.
Consign at a Gun Shop
Your best stuff is going to go right away. The rest of your stuff is going to sit there forever. A shop can only put your items in front of whoever happens to walk through the door that week; when nothing’s moving, they’re not exactly motivated to push it.
Auction Consignment
This is where it becomes a partnership. Your items reach a worldwide collector audience of buyers who know exactly what they’re looking at and are prepared to pay for it. The more you get, the more we get. That alignment doesn’t exist anywhere else.
Why This Is a Partnership
That’s what makes this a partnership. When you consign with me, we become partners. I want to make you as much money as possible; the more money I make you, the more money I make me.
I’ve never turned anyone away. Not a single gun, not an estate of 150.
Jeff Taverner, Owner — Gunslinger Auctions
You can give me one firearm or 5,000 firearms. We will get them into the auction and we get them sold. There’s no tapbacks. Stuff doesn’t come back.
Jeff Taverner, Owner — Gunslinger Auctions
Give me ten guns. Three will sell for more than they’re worth. Three for exactly what they’re worth. Three a little less. But because the first three sold for more, it works out in the end. And one’s always going to be a wild card; you just never know.

How Auction Consignment Works
Gunslinger Auctions photographs, describes, securely stores, markets, and sells your firearms to a worldwide audience of buyers from across the country; hundreds pack the auction room on the day of the sale, with absentee and phone bids on top of that. Our commission comes from the final sale price. You pay nothing until your item sells. Call to discuss rates on high-value collections.
Off-Roster Guns Are Worth More Than You Think
California’s Handgun Roster keeps shrinking, and that scarcity drives real value at auction for off-roster handguns. Collectors know this. They bid accordingly; they’re willing to pay a premium for guns that can still legally transfer via private party through a licensed FFL.
Here’s how that works in practice: a California buyer purchases your off-roster handgun through us. It goes through a private party transfer; the buyer pays a $47 transfer fee, it takes about 15 minutes, and all they need is their ID. That’s it. The gun transfers legally, and the price reflects the scarcity. You benefit from a market that a shop window can never reach.
If you have off-roster handguns in your collection, call us before you do anything else. Don’t take $400 from a dealer for something a collector will pay $900 for at auction.
We Also Buy Direct
Sometimes you need the collection gone and you’re not interested in waiting on an auction cycle. We’ve heard every reason: estate deadlines, storage constraints, out-of-state executors closing a property. Gunslinger Auctions will make you a straight, competitive offer with no pressure and no games.
Worth knowing: when we buy a collection outright, it goes straight into auction; that’s how confident we are in the platform. The buyout is the right call when timing matters more than money. We’ll tell you that honestly, and we’ll tell you what the difference is.
Nationwide Collection Pickup
Our auction house is in Orange, California. We work with sellers from anywhere in the country; reach us by walk-in appointment, pre-approved inbound shipment, or in person when the collection is large enough to justify the trip. Yes, including Alaska and Hawaii.
For significant estates, we travel. Fully insured transport, no cost to you on collection pickup. Call and tell us what you have; if it makes sense to come to you, we will.
