California Rifle & Pistol Association
Gunslinger Auctions and Gunslinger’s Gun Shop are proud official business affiliates of the California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA). This relationship is formally recognized in CRPA’s county directories, including the Orange County Business Affiliate Guide for our auction house and the Los Angeles County Business Affiliate Guide for our retail location in Azusa. From our earliest involvement, we have supported CRPA’s work in protecting Second Amendment rights, advancing firearm safety education, and promoting responsible gun ownership throughout California.
At every Gunslinger Auctions event, a dedicated CRPA booth is present with representatives available to answer questions, assist with memberships, and provide updates on current advocacy efforts. We also contribute substantial quantities of ammunition to support CRPA’s Youth Shooting Sports programs, which include a wide network of competitive teams, training initiatives, and affiliated youth organizations across California, helping young Californians participate in safe, structured marksmanship training and competitive shooting events.
Through consistent event support, direct program contributions, and our longstanding affiliate relationship, Gunslinger Auctions and Gunslinger’s Gun Shop remain aligned with the principles the CRPA has upheld since 1875: preserving the right to keep and bear arms while promoting safety, education, and participation in the shooting sports.
Happy Trails Children’s Foundation
Gunslinger Auctions is proud to support the Happy Trails Children’s Foundation, a Southern California nonprofit established under the legacy of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Founded as the Victor Valley Child Abuse Task Force in 1982 and renamed in 1992 to honor the participation of the King of the Cowboys and the Queen of the West, the Foundation operates the Cooper Home in Apple Valley, California — a long-term residential care and treatment facility for severely abused boys between the ages of 10 and 16.
The Cooper Home operates at maximum capacity serving 44 boys at a time, with a lengthy waiting list. These are children removed from their homes by Child Protective Services and placed by the courts into an intensive program of group and individual therapy, set on 40 acres of High Desert land in Apple Valley. Since opening in 1997, the Cooper Home has provided shelter, care, and treatment services to more than 850 children. The Foundation’s mission is straightforward: break the chain of abuse before it carries into the next generation.
In our September 2024 auction, items generously donated by Joel “Dutch” Dortch — historian, author, and Executive Director of the Happy Trails Children’s Foundation — raised over $25,000 on behalf of the Cooper Home. It was a privilege to put our bidder base to work for a cause this close to home, and we look forward to continuing that support.
